Give credit where credit is due
Our industry has had to face some of its toughest years recently, and while business had slowed down across most of the world, it also has been a time when people and companies have worked harder than ever before. We felt that it was the perfect time collectively put our hands together and celebrate the genuine successes that exist within our industry. And so we are pleased to announce the new IHIF AWARDS, the ceremony for which will take place in London in November.
Over the years the IHIF has become synonymous with the place where business is done, and we are truly honoured to be seen as the event for the industry by the industry. For the past 15 years, IHIF has celebrated individual and group success with a number of Awards including the Young Leaders and Life Time Achievement (which, as usual, will be awarded during the IHIF 2012 in March). Working alongside two of the most influential media organisations in the hotel investment industry, Hotel Analyst and Hotel Management, this extension to the IHIF experience will deliver worthy recognition of leadership, deal-making and innovation within the industry.
Nominations are now open for these awards and we encourage you to make a nomination and recognise good work by our industry. Comprised of Investor and Advisor award categories, the awards will offer an opportunity for the industry to recognise the best in class for each category.
The award categories are: Single asset acquisition of the yearPortfolio acquisition of the yearSingle asset disposal of the yearPortfolio disposal of the yearInvestor of the yearLegal adviser (firm) of the yearProperty adviser (firm) of the yearManagement consultant (firm) of the yearDebt financier (bank) of the yearDesigner / architect / constructor (firm) of the year.
One unique feature of the awards is that senior figures involved in the European hotel industry will have an opportunity to vote for the winners. Each of the 10 category winners will thus have been judged by their peers, which lends solid credibility to the award winners and the awards in general.
Each nomination will be judged based on achievement between 1st July 2010 and 30th June 2011. To qualify for the shortlist, the judges will look for evidence of exceptional achievement by the nominee and a demonstration that the nominee has made a contribution to the industry outside the norm.
We’re thrilled to add these prestigious awards as a new component of IHIF 2012 and recognise the outstanding leaders we have in the industry and the awards are a natural extension of our conference. Along with our partners at Hotel Analyst and Hotel Management, we look forward to recognising the deserving figures in our industry at the awards ceremony in London on 1st November at the Hilton London Metropole.
