Hyatt Regency Perth Completes Interior Redesign

Hyatt Regency Perth has just completed the final stages of the most extensive interior redesign project in the hotels history, a project which has been 16 months in the making.

In March 2010, the hotel commenced works with an objective of setting a new benchmark for accommodation in Perth’s CBD and reinforcing Hyatt Regency Perth’s commitment to quality service and product.

The complete interior redesign including the full new fit out of guestrooms was designed by Hyatt’s Interior Design Specialist, Diana Simpson. The concept is contemporary, yet timeless and understated. Custom designed furniture and joinery is veneered in figured Tasmanian Oak, with clear glass and mirror polished stainless steel. The calm colours and textural contrasts in materials provide a comfortable, residential feel while concealed amenities indicate close attention to detail and guests’ comfort, including minibar fridge, safe and electrical outlets for guests’ use all installed at user friendly heights.

Each of the hotel’s 367 guestrooms now also feature a flat-screen-high-definition LCD television and new doors with proximity lock, a contactless, guest-friendly electronic locking system that eliminates the need to insert a key card to gain access to the guestroom. Guests simply hold their key card near the lock.

Bathrooms on the exclusive Regency Club levels also received an entire new fit out including an extra spacious walk-in shower and unique decorative glass vanity basin.

On entering a guestroom, from the standard room to those located on the Regency floors, an atmosphere of luxury, space, and serenity permeates so guests can truly relax and unwind. King-sized beds and feathered duvets provide the extra measure of luxury and comfort as does the abundance of natural light and magnificent views of Perth scenery (Swan River or Perth City). Each room offers a generous working area with state of the art technology.

As part of the project, the hotel’s public areas also received extensive works. The swimming pool area now emanates an urban oasis atmosphere. Changes include new timber decking installed to the areas under the shade sails and opposite the tennis court. LED lights have been strategically positioned creating warm lighting effects. The previous floor covering has been removed and rebuilt with new synthetic turf-like material. Other public areas including the hotels lobby and corridors also received new carpeting as well as contemporary wallpaper and furnishings.

Key energy-saving initiatives, including energy-efficient lighting and water-saving devices, have also been installed to extend the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and to complement green initiatives that are already in place.

These extensive works reinforce Hyatt Regency Perth’s commitment to quality service and product and set a new benchmark for accommodation providers in the Perth CBD.
