It might sound like an odd idea, but an enterprising campsite owner in Suffolk is planning to convert an old RAF helicopter into campsite accommodation.
Tom Johnson already has a double decker London Bus available, or perhaps youd prefer the Dutch bubble caravan or even a gypsy caravan for your weeks holiday?
After buying the old search rescue helicopter for around £5000, Mr Johnson has set about removing all the electrics and stripping the inside so he can introduce some more homely featureslike beds.
You might be thinking that a helicopter is really the wrong shape as an alternative to a caravan, but going by the pictures posted in to the Daily Mail web site it looks about the same width as a narrowboat and we know how popular those have become on Britains waterways.
The campsite plans to market the helicopter around £60 per night so although not as cheap as pitching a tent, at least you can be pretty sure this accommodation wont blow over in the middle of the night!
You can find more details about some of the more unusual items on the Blackberry Wood web site.

When you suggest a holiday cottage to someone chances are they imagine an idyllic retreat in a rural oasis – basically, a picture postcard brought to life. Mention an apartment in London on the other hand and they probably go for the opposite: a place where you trade quiet for vibrancy, and relaxation for a host of things to see and do. The truth, as our new Cottage of the Week proves, lies somewhere in-between.
Clarence Mews is located within inner southeast London on the south bank of the Thames. You’ll find popular tourist haunts like the Tower of London, Tate Modern, the London Eye and the O2 arena are all close by. A v

Richard and Susie McDonald’s Mig 15.
RICHARD and Susie McDonald have been taking their Mig 15 to Rockhampton’s skies for the past seven years with visitors coming to the region specifically for the once in a lifetime thrill.
Sadly the couple have now made the agonising decision to not re-certify the aircraft and retire it to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Museum in Wollongong.
The Mig Jet was built in 1956 in Poland and flew in the cold war, but during its life with the McDonalds it has participated in 10 Airshows and taken many locals and travellers on a thrill seeking ride, flying at incredible speeds of over 1000kph.
The Mig will be leaving Rockhampton next week, leaving extra room in the hangar and Rockhampton’s skies for a Hawker Hunter.
When asked about plans for the future Susie said, “We have a new project on the horizon; offering warbird adventure flights in our Hawker Hunter. We pl
