Londinium, The Big Smoke, whatever London’s been called over the years, its status as a world-class holiday destination has never been in question.

To visit London is to spend time in one of the world’s finest capital cities, exploring a rich and captivating history and enjoying a wealth of seasonal events – with the added option of partaking in some first class retail therapy.

Basically, London sells itself – which makes our job quite easy! And it’s only going to get more attractive, vibrant and spectacular as it readies itself for next year.

• London’s West End offers just about every type of theatrical entertainment that you could wish for. Alongside popular musical mainstays (Les Miserables, The Lion King, Mamma Mia and more) there are a host of new shows opening in the near future. 2011 sees the curtain rise on musicals of Ghost and Matilda, alongside new adaptations of Driving Miss Daisy and The Ladykillers.

• Despite the hundreds of temporary events it houses each year, for us, one of the greatest attractions of The British Museum is the building’s stunning neo-classical architecture. Well, that and the fact that it’s completely free to enter! You can currently enjoy some of the finest sacred treasures of the medieval age at the Treasures of Heaven exhibition.
