Enjoy Ragged Trousered Philanthropists in Lake District
Theatre-goers in Lake District cottages have a real treat in store for them in July, as the Ragged Trousered Philanthropists will be making an appearance at the Theatre by the Lake.
It could be a great way for people to relax after an exhausting day conquering the majestic mountains in the area.
The theatre production follows the fortunes of a group of painter and decorators in Edwardian England, travelling the county struggling to survive in the tough conditions.
But do not be fooled, this is not a Ken Loach-style exploration of the downtrodden classes, rather a hilarious piece that will have audiences rolling in the aisles.
The show costs £16 to attend and is being performed from Monday July 25th to Thursday July 28th at various times.
While relatively new compared to other theatres – and particularly the ancient landscape surrounding it – the Theatre by the Lake has plenty of pedigree and was opened in 1999 by none other than Dame Judi Dench and her late husband Michael Williams.
