Nippon Dreamliner Makes Debut Commercial Flight

The worlds first Boeing Dreamliner has taken to the air, carrying passengers between Tokyo and Hong Kong. Though the Boeing 787 is three years late, its innovation and 21^st century technology have ensured that a huge amount of hype and media spotlight has remained around this new plane.

A number of problems have dogged the development of the Dreamliner with Boeing noting several cancelled orders from airlines that were not willing to wait for the production to be increased. However, for Nippon Airways, the owner of the first Dreamliner in the world, remaining true to their contract has paid dividends with the luxurious jet having now taken to the skies.

Flying a special charter service before scheduled flights begin in November, the first passengers were given a chance to enjoy the upgraded facilities. The flight between Tokyo and Hong Kong uses 20% less fuel than any other competitor due to the 787s fuel saving technologies. Meanwhile, on board, the flight passengers have cleaner air, more humidity and larger windows to enjoy the views from. With the plane being manufactured from many recyclable components, this new age plane is set to be a huge aviation player in the coming months and years.
