  • WE’RE skint and fat – those are the two reasons preventing us from enjoying summer breaks this year.

At least they are according to research by Swiss International Airlines (SWISS). They say 68 per cent of British holiday makers think something will prevent them from relaxing during their trip.

Money problems are the reason for 24 per cent while 21 per cent blame the shape of their bodies.

Felix Rodel of SWISS said: “It is still possible to enjoy your summer holidays this year – searching for the best fares is a cost-effective way of booking a holiday and still enjoying yourself while you are abroad.”

“As an airline, we try to ease financial worries by offering low-cost fares to Switzerland and many other destinations further afield. Switzerland is also a great destination for a summer holiday because you can keep fit and healthy whilst enjoying yourself. Whether it is biking, hiking or walking there is something for all the family”.

  • MALAYSIAN Airlines banned kids from first class claiming that’s what people want – but is this true?

Well, sort of, according to Skyscanner. But their survey of 2,000 people also found we are becoming MORE tolerant of kids when we fly.

Although 66 per cent of respondents supported the ban, only 12 per cent (down from last year’s 20 per cent) wanted totally child-free flights.

Skyscanner’s Mary Porter, a mum of one, said: “I don’t believe that it is practical for airlines to offer child-free areas except, as Malaysian Airlines has done, by limiting this to first class.

“Therefore airlines must do all they can to support parents flying with young families which will ensure a more pleasurable flying experience for both the family and those seated around them.”
