What we’re watching: NYC subway dining car, criminal penguins, illuminating Bern’s parliament building
This weekends focus is on the fantastic. First we look at the fantasy of elegant dining while traveling on the NYC subway system, then a video spies on a criminal penguin getting ready for mating season and finally we see the facade of a staid parliament building in Bern, Switzerland, dance to a computerized light show. This amazing effort of serving a 6-course meal aboard the L Train New York subway car was conceived in the back of a car in Los Angeles. Managing to pull off the event was a major undertaking of preparation and perfect timing.

This fall, each evening for six weeks, Bern’s Parliament Square (Bundesplatz) will be transformed into a rendezvous for the senses. A 20-minute display of light and sound will awaken the facade of the Parliament Building, inviting spectators on an impressionistic journey through Switzerland – a land on the edge of tradition and innovation.
From October 14 through November 26, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. each day, Bern’s Parliament Square (Bundesplatz) is illuminated with a high-end experience of light and sound.
“Rendezvous Bundesplatz” is based on the theme of “Switzerland – on the edge of tradition and innovation” Through the magical combination of lights and computers, the facade of the Parliament Building seems to dance.
